Seven years ago my husband and I became Fabrion Franchisees. I liked the idea because it was hands on and crafty, and Craig liked working with cars. I had been a Licensed Practical Nurse for 25 years and had recently been moved to a new position that I was very unhappy with. We were nearly 50 and decided that if we were ever going to own a business, now was the time. We looked at it as a pre-retirement job.

Then Craig began having heart problems. This left most of the front end work to me., while he did payroll and billing in the evenings. At first I was concerned about being a woman in a mans world, but I couldnt be happier with how things have worked out. I learned how to do repairs well in less than three weeks, and cut my repair time in half after another 6 weeks. 5 months after buying the franchise, we started a second unit. Two years after that, a third. Currently, all my technicians are women, just more proof that anyone — man or woman — can make this work for them!
